cats love to play with the plastic thingys from milk jugs

I'm going to have my moment of mecenary glee, and no one can stop me. For someone has purchased the KitchenAid stand mixer from our wedding registry and it will be mine, mine! Mwuhahahaha. I am filled with visions of baking and now the wedding can proceed. I threatened to uninvite everyone if I didn't get that mixer and I suppose someone took me seriously. Hah! Foolish, wonderful mortals. Whoever got the mixer gets the biggest thank you card.

Jeremiah got us a cigarette light that installs into one of the bays on Alan's desktop. It's pretty spiffy, and funny.

The benefits meeting was unpleasant, as we learned the extent of how badly the company is screwing us with our prescriptions. Frankly, their spin on it is a bit offensive. If it really were about empowering us, or about fighting the drug companies, or helping us in any way, that would be one thing. But the message is clearly, we don't want you to get drugs, go to the doctor, get sick, have proper medical care. I think it's bullshit and I'm going to send coporate a friendly little email on the subject.

Grocery shopping tonight. We wouldn't have gone over $100 if I hadn't picked up the November issue of Texas Monthly. But it's been ages and it is one of my favorite magazines. Plus there is an article about pie. Now we have the biggest portabellos I've ever seen, sausages, olives, bread, bagels, smoked salmon, vegetables, a giant orange, tamarind candy and various other things to see us through the week.

One of the stray kittens is currently playing with a plastic band from a milk jug on our carpet. If we leave the door open she will come inside while the other kitten curls up just outside the door. We have named the braver kitten Desdemona.

Kittens!

Dude what the hell is it about this week? Just your job... my bank... feh feh feh. I passed out last night with my clothes on, I was so tired from it all. Will totally call you tonight though as we so clearly need to catch up on our loathing of nearly everyone else.

*sigh*

I don't know about you, but I'm thinking it's time to give Citibank an anal probe to find out why they are such morons. Then we can feed them to the turkey buzzards. Speaking of carrion eaters, I have a super gross possum story for you.

I'll be at my desk, hating the world no doubt.
