Well. Once again, the Matrix has eaten my brain and I'm at work trying to think of some way to look busy while I return to normal. Okay, okay there are flaws. But overall I like this movie. You have to pay attention to everything, it's visually stunning, and I happen to like the pacing.

If there was ever a movie heroine I wanted to be, it must be Trinity. The determination, the utter ruthlessness she shows in going after Neo is perfect for the character. It goes to show how much love can fuck you up. We all die, right here right now. How about it Merv? Hah! More movies need women who take care of business, like Naiobi and Trinity. What a flight!

I think I will have nightmares about the invasion of Zion for some time. There wasn't quite the gore factor I was expecting, but it plays along with some of the things I found so upsetting in the Second Renaissance. There is nothing more terrifying that inevitability. Nothing more awful, nothing more damning. I was almost in tears at points, because I honestly felt like there was no certainty that any of them could survive.

So many people bitch about the romance, but I think it's crucial. It is the connection, as the program said, that matters and not the words. I happen to like the way it's handled, especially with Link & Z.

The actor who played Bain and his imitation of Weaving... priceless. That part was quite brilliant.

Agent Smith... dear god. The whole thing was brilliant. His end could have happened no other way, I think.

We probably could have lived without the last few minutes with the Oracle and the Architect, but eh. Whatever. I'll chalk that up to people wanting something tied with a bow.

That ending really wasn't so hot.

Well Agent Smith was a program that got corrupted and turned into a desctructive virus. Neo and the Oracle were Trojan horses, used to sneak code into the virus to destroy it. So Smith's code was disrupted and he was taken apart from the inside. It's kinda cool from a programmer point of view.
