I suppose this is my own damn fault for something I did.

Someone smashed out my passenger side window. Took my car stereo and every cd I owned, including cds belonging to a couple friends. CDs that were made me for me and cds I bought overseas that I probably won't ever be able to replace. All gone.

I'm waiting for the police to show up, and then I suppose I'll talk to my insurance company. I can't even remmber right now if I have coverage for this sort of stuff. I don't think I do. It occurs to me that I haven't any idea how much it will cost to replace that window.

Oh Amanda, that sucks!! I am so sorry.

Hopefully something surprising will happen and your insurance will cover it, or they'll catch the guy trying to sell the stuff. Maybe you should contact Waterloo/Cheapo/other stores and put them on the look out for certain CDs that are rare and hard to find? Do they even do things like that? It could be worth a shot.

I'm not at all sure what it is you think you did that precipitated the theft. Own a car? A CD player in said car? What?

As long as there are things to own, there will be those who figure what's theirs is theirs, and what belongs to everyone else is also theirs. It's not your fault, although it is a damn shame your property was stolen. I can empathize.

Cheers...

I feel your pain...

I have been down that path, plus it was 3 am, and it was outside a bar I had gone to with some friends. The feeling of violation was difficult to shake. It it's any help, it was my passenger window but the small triangular one, not the main window. And that cost $250 for me to fix :((.

In moments like these, be strong and remember these words: What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger...

I so sorry, Amanda. It's not your fault that crackheads are crackheads. I had a radio stolen from my car once, right outside my house, but I was lucky in that my insurance covered almost everything.

Stuff like that is why original CDs rarely leave my house any more. If I want to take it with me, I burn a copy and take that. A little extreme, I guess, but at least my out-of-print Showgirls soundtrack is safe.

Aw, I am so sorry that happened to you. Maybe with the power of your internet friends you could post a list of what you lost, maybe people out there have it and they could burn some of it for you? I dunno, just a thought.
