My car is whole again, though I'm still picking pieces of faintly greenish glass out of the interior. It's very fragile once broken, and reminds me of the time I saw a tabletop in Metro shattered. A man who looked a lot like Steve Buscemi's younger brother came out to pull off the door panel and install a new window. The glass is made in South Africa, which I didn't know. It was quick and over before 10am.

While cleaning, I got around to opening the glove compartment. I found a cd case in there, with two cds inside. Alan's Joy Division case was on the seat, but one of my cds was in there. So all I've got left now are:

Stickpony's live album
Sarah McLaughlan's "Into the Fire" single
Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes

Perhaps not ones I would have saved, but better than nothing.

Afterwards, I slept til this very moment, and I dreamed my friend John from high school came back. His hair was darker and he was changed somehow, but I recognized him. We were staying in a big house with parquet floors and many bathrooms, surrounded by trees. My kitchen cabinets were full of tomatillos. Roland was there, and other characters I remember from games.

I read over your list, and the only CD I have that you had is Our Lady Peace, Gravity. Which I would happily burn for you if you'd like.

Oh that would be so sweet of you, thank you. And would later on next Saturday evening be good for cards? We have a family birthday shindig to go to in the afternoon, but I demanded to be done in time for cards.

Something that occurred to me- some of your import CDs may be obscure enough that notifying used record stores in the area could be worthwhile. And checking eBay *sigh* In an ideal world, you'd just find them by watching the circling buzzards. Lemme know if you can use some burned replacements.

Yeah, I should probably call Half Price and Cheapos. They won't likely buy them, since they aren't in the cases. Ergh. I spent $50 on that nice leather portfolio and I liked it.

David Bowie's Heroes is winging its way to you.

And coyotegoth is right. Years and years ago, a friend had his car broken into while at a party. They ripped out his back seat, and stole everything out of his trunk, including some expensive camping gear. He went down to a block in my neighborhood where a lot of stuff gets sold on the street by the homeless and/or dubious -- found his stuff, and gave the guy $25 and a right hook for it.

Joy!

Right hooks for the jackasses who stole my stuff. Though they only got away with the face plate, so I should be able to repair the stereo.
