go away girl

It's 80s night on the PA! While there are sometimes dreadful songs we didn't need to hear, there's more than enough good, weird stuff to make up for it. Synthesizer noises and keyboards, and you can't go wrong with that.

I miss my cds horribly. I always had something on in the background while I was writing, and I had become so used to that simple thing it feels almost impossible to work now. I wonder if I'll ever find that Gwen Mars cd again. I won it off the radio when I was 15, in the summer.

This is the first time in many years I haven't dreaded this paticular anniversary. It doesn't hurt like it used to hurt, and I think that's a good sign.

Alan made us fettucine with poblano parmesan sauce, yellow bell pepper and chicken baked with a touch of raspberry chipotle sauce.

If anything, I think it will transform itself into an anniversary celebrating the fact that you survived to become the amazing and beautiful creature that you are today. : )

Oh, yeah...and get your man to post more of his corny jokes for me. ;-P

Yeah, it's starting to feel that way.

I'm on Alan's case, and we even got him paid account time. He's been busy playing Day of Defeat and trying to get into one of those elite clans. I'll go thump him right now for you though. ;)

Aha, we have lured you into livejournal too! Mwuhahah.

I do not mind. It is good. :)

I think it's a great sign. And I think that one day, it probably won't be any sort of sign at all.

*petpet* I got the email that Heroes shipped today, and I know that others have been discussing navigating the voodoo that is the post office.

It sort of crept up on me this year, and I didn't realize until a couple days ago. That's probably a good sign.

You folks are the best.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2004-01-13 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, in a year or two you'll remember it after the fact and probably feel pretty puzzled. I'm realizing just having this conversation with you now that the series of big dread things I have in January, while less directly about me, just totally blew by me this year without a thought.

Gwen Mars Magnosheen?
It's under a dollar on Half.com, if that's the one, say the word. It costs more to do my laundry and we all know that's not gonna happen tonight.

[identity profile] tsarina.livejournal.com 2004-01-13 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Aha!!!! That's it. Weird, I thought it would be more of a pain to track down. I never heard anything of that band after I got that album.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2004-01-13 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never bloody heard of them, but I put in an order for it, I'll let you know if it gets confirmed.

[identity profile] tsarina.livejournal.com 2004-01-13 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
They're just weird mid 90s rock. But I liked the vocals a lot.

I should go troll half.com because I'm sure as hell not getting work done.

Half.com rocks except media mail takes forever, and you can't save money by combining shipping because you're so rarely ordering multiple items from the same source.

It was indeed an excellent meal, and my husband is one hell of a cook.
