My uncle Barney gave us a big jar of his secret spice rub for meats as a wedding present. We used it today on a fairly cheap cut of beef, along with some raspberry chipotle sauce. The beef marinated for about eight hours, and then we roasted it for about 30 minutes at 450 degrees.

Oh my lord, this is the best beef. It's got a bit of spicy goodness to it, and the flavor is intense! Alan speculates there is some kind of meat tenderizer in the rub, because it came out velvety delicious. Fantastic stuff.

With some bread and red wine, it's perfect.
