So I had a nice evening at Waterloo, talking about if there was any difference between Presidents, and why Czech professors tell us terrible stories that may not quite be true. Very nice, very relaxed. I wish I could do that more often, it makes me happy.

Karen is staying with me til Friday. once upon a time she had a flaky roommate named Charles and the electric bill is in his name. Well, Charles is long goena nd never pays the bill or pays Karen back when she pays. So they just let it slide. And now the power company is turning it off. So for a few days there won't be power until they get a new account set up.

A hazelnut mood is always a good thng!
By the way -- a two month trip to Prague? So much for fear of exploration! I just hope you can find a few minutes here and there during your journey, to provide a vicarious escape for your journal friends. I once studied SE European history. Researched the 19th century resurgence of Croatian native vernacular and its effect on national identity. Yep, it was as dry as it sounds...

wow 19th century resurgence of Croatian native vernacular

Heh, my professors have been after me for two years to take this trip. I think if I tried to stay home for any reason, they would show up at my home, sedate me and put me on the plane anyways. :D

Yes the great thing is the schedule allows for lots of exploration. Classes only meet Monday to Thursday, so I have three day weekends. We're also talking two trips, to Southern Bohemia and to Moravia. I bought my ticket on Tuesday and I am so excited now.

Mmm Croatian. Sounds like fun linguistics. At least you didn't have to spend 20 years writing your dissertation on the Russian names of birds, as did a certain linguist I was told about. ;)
