Why do I like Dallas?

I think it has a lot to do with the voices, the accents, the intonations all being ones I know intimately. Over the years I've known several women, mostly my parents' friends, who could have been the girlfriends, waittresses, and secretaries. It reminds me a lot of my childhood. I watched the show with my mother every week. I could play the theme song on my French horn in middle school.

How could I not love a show with so many funny hats?
