May. 2nd, 2004 06:15 pmAfter many years, I have finally discovered the name of the delicious mushrooms I sometimes encounter in Chinese restaraunts. Straw mushrooms! We found a can of them in HEB last week, and Alan is using them in his version of pho tonight. The apartment smells like cilantro, onion and beef. It's nice.
I ate everything but the crusts of my english muffin. So hungry, because I've spent the day watching Iron Chef battles on the Food Network. This weekend has been wonderful, even though I've been recovering from the dental work. Not really looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, but it has been wonderful to just relax.
Cate and I traded white trash relative stories, and it was good to hear her laugh.
Oh my, I have a giant steaming bowl of Alan Pho before me. Time to eat.
