We're under a tornado watch right now, with the cold front hovering just north of us. I was just thinking yesterday about how it is getting to be tornado season, and just that turn of phrase made me realize that it would be damn near impossible to ever sever my Texas roots.

Alan and I talked in the car on the way home about jobs and finances and cars and the details of living. I hesitate to even dream about it working out, because I hold a little superstition about that. But it would be nice if it did. We could use some changes, and if we need to work jobs we don't like then we should at least make some money.

Brett's new car is very nice, and he got a sweet deal on it. I am so glad. It has the shiniest engine I've ever seen, as he wound up with a 2001 Ford Escort.

I just cracked up hearing Peter O'Toole refer to his new film Troy as an egg beater, and how he didn't mind promoting a "paticularily good egg beater." That was so random and hilarious. Time for Simpsons and laundry.

This entry made me very happy...not for any particular reason, but for the realization that I will soon be back in the world where people understand the beauty of Dairy Queen and thunderstorms. : )

Man, you are missing some epic spring storms. Huge! There were tornados in Bryan and up in Lubbock. But at least you are missing the humidity. Blargle! It's Houston out there. At least the cold front is coming through today.

I actually was in a tornado in Lubbock...May 11th...either 1970 or 1971. It was scary! I'm sooooooooo looking forward to getting back. Only a little over a month now! : )
