threeplusfireSmarty Jones won the Preakness today and set a new record for the largest margin of victory, a record unbroken since the very first race in 1873. It was incredible. He came around that final turn and just when I jumped out of my chair and shouted "Run, run!" at the television, he went flying. You could see some of the other horses turn up the speed, but Smarty Jones just flew. It was amazing.
Our friendly neighborhood liquor store guys are remodelling the store, making more room and tearing up the old carpet. They are having a hell of a time with the crappy glue that was used to stick it on the concrete. I did see some of the tile they are considering, so I hope the glue comes off. We bought some port, and the makings of chocolate martinis. Life is pretty good.
