hail stones

Much as I am uncomfortable with the idea, sometimes things do just appear out of nowhere. Hail stones from a bright summer sky, so to speak. I have never seen lightning strike out of nowhere, but I have seen the hail.

It all comes down to frustrated desire.

Hail, the gangs all here.

Hale, I think is the right usage?

Hail:
Precipitation in the form of spherical or irregular pellets of ice larger than 5 millimeters (0.2 inches) in diameter.
Something that falls with the force and quantity of a shower of ice and hard snow: a hail of pebbles; a hail of criticism.

Hale:
Sound; entire; healthy; robust; not impaired; as, a hale body.

It's okay. I have trouble with certain words in Czech/Russian because they are cognates but have wildly different meanings. Like the word for red in Russian means beautiful in Czech. In my first year I constantly made all sorts of bizarre mistakes, and I still do it when speaking sometimes.
