I loathe people who claim so great philosophical stance on not using proper forms of language. Just because you spell "your" as "yr" does not make you some great feminist, it just makes you look dumb. Nor does an inability to use the shift key make you the next ee cummings. Do it or don't do it, whatever. But don't claim some pretentious bullshit reason for it.

Alan is still very ill. I went to the store for soup and beverages and to find something to help him keep food down. I feel horrible that I was gone all day, and he was so sick alone.

Melynda is coming to town at some point for a meal.

In total agreement with you there. Though if everyone spoke with proper English and grammar, I'd have to spend far too much time deciding whether or not they're worth my time. If someone IMs or e-mails and states: 'H3LO ITS NIEC 2 MET U!11!!!!! OMG LOL L3TS TOK!!1!!! OMG LOL' then it's of course a no-brainer. ;)
