I don't smoke anymore, but I've never understood the point of not having bars/restaurants/etc. specifically for smokers. It seems much easier to simply let people have a choice.

What's galling is that the fuss was raised mostly about bars and music clubs, but all they have to do is purchase a permit to allow smoking. Sadly, Metro doesn't have that option.

It's because 70% of their sales do not come from alcohol. Which is a stupid, arbitrary number and the council plainly admits that. Grr.

No, they can't because there are so many churches right around that block. So they are not eligible to get a bar permit or a liquor license.

i am sure they will be fine. they will probably get more business because their regulars will go and all the people who used to call it too smokey will go too. it is in a great location.
