I just got off the phone with Gene and he informed me that Metro is non-smoking now.

What's galling is that the fuss was raised mostly about bars and music clubs, but all they have to do is purchase a permit to allow smoking. Sadly, Metro doesn't have that option.

Yay, hot tub! I can't wait for that. I've been missing it. You know it's been pouring rain all week, everything should be green when you get home.

Why doesn't Metro have that option? I am just curious. Is it b/c they don't allow alcohol? Or, do they serve food??

It's because 70% of their sales do not come from alcohol. Which is a stupid, arbitrary number and the council plainly admits that. Grr.

No, they can't because there are so many churches right around that block. So they are not eligible to get a bar permit or a liquor license.
