We have a "Research Appreciation Event" today, which makes me wonder if they are just being cheap and forgoing the summer party for the entire company. Anyhow, this afternoon we will all shuffle over the Dave & Busters for two hours of company sponsored fun. I've never actually been inside Dave & Busters, because it has never seemed interesting. Over priced arcade, drinks and food combined with a crowd of upwardly mobile suburbanites with ugly SUVs just doesn't appeal to me. It just seems like some place that has the retro appeal of games where you take your corporate buddies on someone's expense account.

But it's free right? And it means I get out of work two hours early. So it can't be all bad. Kimberly, who is the Research floor's all in one HR/support person, put much effort into planning it.

Back to the salt mines I go. And then home for laundry. I have to sort through and just get rid of the clothes I don't wear anymore because I'm tired of them or because I've gained weight in the past few years. I have such trouble getting rid of things, but we just don't have room for all this crap.
