threeplusfireI love my university, but damn if sometimes it doesn't make me sigh.
From an email about the new UT country club & golf course: The Club prides itself on great golf, camaraderie and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home. Our Members feel that the club is one of the best in Austin. The UT Golf Club is proud to offer Local Memberships, starting at $22,000, and Regional Memberships, varying between $3,000 to $11,000.
Do I play golf? Could I possibly have $22,000 to drop on a fucking country club membership? For the record that's more than I make in a year jerks.
It's obscene, the amount of money that goes into sports. I'm sure the university will make lots of money off this, but damned if any of will go towards fixing Garrison Hall or paying academics better.
