My mother has been expanding her gardening, reclaiming parts of the yard left untended. It looks very nice these days. My sister was going to have one of her boy friends mow the lawn, but my mom worries the neighbors will start calling her Mrs Robinson.
She bought some bell pepper plants, because she likes to cook with them. Only thing is, they aren't bell peppers. We think they are scotch bonnets. She picked some last week, and then went into the house to take out her contacts and shower. I can't imagine the burning agony of touching fresh scotch bonnets and then putting your fingers in your eyes.
She gave Alan a sweet basil plant, and I think he's going to make some fresh pesto with it. I think it is too humid for making meringues, as mine all got sticky. Sigh.
Bagel lox with smoked and peppered salmon, roasted garlic cream cheese, green oinons and capers on plain bagels makes for a damn good dinner.
