(no subject)

Days like these I feel like I'm falling down a well. Fought my way out from under a dispute today, and with luck I won't get tagged for it. Who knows though. It's funny how each day I hear a different person bitching about the job and the search for a new one.

The weather's nice out there. It's getting cooler and I like that. Maybe Ivan will drift into the Gulf and smack into the Texas coast and we'll all be soaked. Florida's had enough I should say. Perhaps someone wants to keep that state out of the election and is using their CIA weather machine to beat it into a soggy pulp.

Picked up some interfacing and satin to line Alan's coat. We're thinking about picking up a sewing machine of our own, maybe an inexpensive Singer or something like that. I need to do more reasearch on the subject, get some opinions.

My left turn signal isn't working. The hazard lights work, and it's got to be something in the turn mechanism. Ugh. I also need to take the car to a dealership and make sure the seatbelts aren't part of a defective batch. Another ugh.

The Law & Order commercials are pure brilliance.

The Noble Collection has the final challenge chess set from the end of Harry Potter & The Sorceror's stone. Too bad I'm a lousy chess player, or I would own so many fancy sets. I'd rather like to have the Time Turner. Pretty nifty keen.

Books in the mail. I think I'll start with The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud.

I need a CIA weather machine. I think this hurricane made its way up here and just decided to stop. It's been moderately raining for like 24 hours straight. It never does that in texas (you at least get a few hour breaks between downpours)

That really is kinda bizarre. How is life besides the weird rain?

I've really enjoyed the nice weather... Houston with no humidity! But now I'm starting to feel guilty, because I know others are suffering for it. Damn my Catholic heritage!

Wes is moving to Austin in three weeks. Borrow his sewing machine. Or better yet, make him sew it for you. ;)

Houston with no humidity? Dude.

We're going to be using Cate's a bit, but we are thinking we might want one of our own.
