journalism

The Pulitzers were handed out yesterday. Go hug your favorite freedom fighter journalist today, or take the time to read a newspaper & write a letter to them about something in there. The news media is an important part of our lives. Be aware of the world around you.

I went to the Newseum in D.C. in 1998. It's a very cool place. I think they are getting ready to move into a bigger building. They have so much stuff, from a Gutenberg Bible to an exhibit of Pulitzer Prize winning photos. Few museums have moved me to tears like this one. It was amazing to see the history of journalism, to learn about its pioneers and to see the results. Outside they have a memorial wall made of glass panes in a spiral of metal poles, with the names of all journalists killed in the line of duty. Somewhere I have some beautiful photos.
