I'm trying to calm my jangled nerves with Law & Order SVU, and vainly attempting to write. Only a few hundred words for my Nano project, and a couple hundred for something utterly unrelated. I'm trying to follow Jaida's example and drabble away to keep from biting my nails.

Every single news site has different numbers. Everything is worrying me. I keep tellingmyself that Bush's early lead doesn't matter because only a few percent of the vote has been counted. I keep hoping that we win this, that we pull through.

I just can't imagine that so much of the country is really satisfied with our current leadership. It worries me.

Fear is a powerful motivator, and unfortunately, Bush knows it.

I voted for Kerry (postal vote), and with most of the polling stations in my county reported, it looks like my county votedfor Kerry, but it won't make a lick of difference because most of the state voted for Bush, which means all of the state's votes go to Bush.

Our damn antiquated and inadequate voting system needs an overhaul. This business of my vote going to the candidate I didn't want just because most of my state voted that way has GOT to stop.

I agree. I think the electoral college needs to be disbanded.

Voting our fears won't help us move forward. Why don't the rest of the country understand that?
