I'm so furious I could spit nails. The woman on the phone said it was all my fault and they mailed something out to me *weeks* ago about jury duty to my apartment. Well how the fuck did they manage to do that when they sent to jury summons last week to my mother's house under my maiden name? What the fucking fuck?

For anyone who wonders, they only update their database EVERY THREE years, and it's pulled from both drivers licenses and voter registration.

I would also be a lot more happy if I didn't have to show up at 9am tomorrow for a trial at the courthouse. They cheerfully informed me that there is no parking at all for jury members. Do we wonder why Texas has a fast track death row? It's because there are no parking spaces for the damned jurors and we are all pissed off.

I don't have a problem with jury duty. I was actually a bit tickled by the thought, but then I have watched far too much Law & Order this year. But I'm incredibly annoyed that I was getting the run around on the phone, I got myself impanelled today online and I have an assignment for freaking tomorrow morning. I want to do my democratic duty, but gods above do they have to make it as inconvenient as bloody possible?

I was looking at the dillos, cause hey public transit rocks, but I would have to drive to the other side of Austin to catch one!

There are many more busses besides the dillo, for example the #7 goes from airport blvd to downtown. Not sure exactly where you live but if nothing else you could always park at highland mall and take it from there. If you call the phone number for cap metro you can tell them where you are and where you need to be and they will find a route for you. I hope this helped some!

Yeah, I wish I had more time to figure out how I was going to get down there. I thought for sure there would be at least a day between the impanel and when I would actually have to show up for jury selection.

I'll check out the Metro arrangements.
