bracing

The storms last night kept me awake, thunder rattling my windows and lightning splitting the skies. It led to nightmares about stolen cars and dangling over the edge of the Vltava river in deathly fear of contracting typhus. I woke up gasping for breath in the dark.

During the day we never saw the sun. At times, it was as dark as night outside from the storm clouds and the rain. We were like fish in a tank.

I went crazy in the store and bought things to make pies. Chocolate and limes and mint and cherry preserves and graham crackers and pecans. I am filled with the mad desire to bake. Tonight I made caramel chocolate squares.

your baking ingredients sound wonderful-- any plans or is it an experimental urge?

the caramel chocolate squares sound to die for-- dan and i are currently having chocolate brownie waffles with whip cream and peanutt butter drizzle as our dessert. i'm mad for sweets lately.

One chocolate cherry pie, one chocolate mint pie, and a key lime meringue I think. All with graham crusts.

those sound delicious- are they for thanksgiving or just because?

i have to make a pie tomorrow- pumpkin-apple. i like to get all the thanksgiving tradition out of one pie. get to fuss with less crust that way :)
