The announcers on ABC are completely baffled by the score, and the whole debacle over one point is thoroughly and utterly confusing. On the field goal attempt, things went horribly, weirdly awry, and A&M landed on the ball in the end zone. Why we get a point for that I have no idea.

I believe it's called a " Reversal ".

( The only reason I know this is from having my ass handed to me in electronic football in an aracde some aeons ago )

It ends up they are refeerring to a really arcane rule about two point attempts and the referees didn't see the kicker come into contact with the ball...

They gave UT a "one point safety" for tackling A&M in the end zone after the failed PAT. I hadn't heard of that one before!

It's apparently Rule 8.3.1, which is used in cases for two point attempts! I guess the referees didn't see the kicker touch the ball? It is so weird, and the announcers have been snarking about it all game.
