(no subject)

I've taken a week away from the novel, to clear my head. I really do need to get back to woring on that however.

I've been so damned tired. More tired than I need to be. I feel constantly overwhelmed by stupid little things, like laundry and cleaning. But then, I'm not doing a hell of a lot with my time anyhow. Winter lethargy I suppose, in addition to our wild moods swings weather. When it gets cold all I want to do is sleep.

Melynda's coming to stay with me this weekend, and I'm glad. We'll have some pie, and play cards. I need to vacuum and clean up some before she gets here. Mostly I'm cleaning for me, because the clutter is driving me insane. I'm fast approaching the point where I start chucking my possessions right out. i did throw out twooo garbage bags of useless stuff a few weeks ago. It just had to be done.

My arms are better, but I feel the ache in them. It frightens and annoys me.

Tonight I sent off my resume to a law firm with an open position. It would be awfully swell to get a new job for Christmas.

What kind of job with the lawfirm?

Office monkey sort of thing - opening the office, answering the phones, making sure everyone's got post it notes and plane tickets. But it could be super neat to start all over in the legal field!

I'm glad too. I miss you terribly and I need to get away. I wish I could stay longer than just a weekend. I have so much to tell you.

Also... besides a new job, what else do you want for Christmas? I tried to call Alan today to ask him but he didn't answer his phone.

He never ever answers his phone. :P

I have no idea. A maid?

I'll think about it today, and write a half serious Christmas list on LJ. :P

save stuff! the ISO is having a garage sale in january to benefit the center for economic research and social change which prints our books and our magazine haymarket books is the publisher and international socialist review is the magazine. we are going broke and we are trying to buy a display at barnes and noble for some new books coming out.

so if you are so inclined instead of chucking stuff call me and i will come to your house and pick it up and save it in my garage for january. or you can always drop it off on your way from or to work :)

good luck on the new job is it in research?

I will try to save anything worth giving to someone else. The difficult part is searching through the debris of another lifetime and deciding how much I really want some of those letters and note cards and old magazines.

No it's more of an admin type job, but it sounded fun. The biggest draw was that they didn't require lots of experience like many of the other positions I've looked at recently.

sorry it took so long to get back to you

i know what you mean about saving things
i have mostly gotten rid of everything. since i spent that week at jay's apt three years ago i became somewhat of a minimalist. not that i had that much stuff to begin with especially compared to you and melynda :)

i even got rid of some of my old books, though i don't know if that counts because i have
or maybe it just feels like it has been a long time since i read this reply... hmmm

replaced them with about twice as many since i did.

good luck with the admin job. i hope you get it. it seems like it is time for something new. as for your cold. have you tried that airborne stuff? i have only seen commercials but i have heard good things

take plenty of vitamin c :)
