threeplusfireBack in the apartment, where we still really don't have any warm water. But there's a marathon of Last Exile episodes on today, and I'm going to curl up on the couch with the laptop and the cat.
We ate dinner and exchanged presents with Alan's family in Bryan. The drive home last night was frigid but clear. I like to see the farm houses in the middle of empty fields decorated with lights. A cat ran out in front of us, but Alan managed to dodge in time. The drive doesn't seem as long at night.
We drank champagne at my mom's and watched the hysterically bad and entertaining Chronicles of Riddick. I mean, who approved that script and talked all those big names into acting for it? We spent the night there, because she had hot water for bathing.
My most favorite present this year came from my mother, who gave me the Lord of the Rings backgammon set. It's beautiful and I love it. We came home with lots of coffee, candy, soap for me and socks for Alan. Alan got a set of blue and white rice bowls with chopsticks, and a bottle of sake for cooking. We have a new kitty toy, and money for shopping so I can get myself the extended edition of ROTK. My mom also gave me a tiny SpiderMan lunchbox.
I really, really want Chinese food. You just would not believe.
