update on the vicious dog

The dog got out of its yard this afternoon. Apparently there is also a second dog at the home. So they were both running wild, threatening the pets and children of the streets.

My mother went next door and pounded on the door, but there was no answer. So she called the animal control officer, who just happened to be up the street looking for a bat in the middle school. The officer came down and captured both dogs. They are in dog lockup tonight, and you can bet it will cost that ratfucker neighbor a good chunk of change to get them out.

The unincorporated area of Travis county doesn't have many animal regulations. That's an issue being taken up with the legislators and citizens this year. I can only hope they do start registering dangerous dogs, and tracking the history of animals that harm people or other animals.

I feel a huge sense of relief that my mother's other cats are safe tonight.

It was like that moment when Galadriel refuses the One Ring. My mother says she has passed the test.

I can't believe they would let your neighbors have them back. Maybe if the whole neighborhood bands together you can drive them out.

Do they rent or own? If they rent, get them in trouble with the owners.

I think they bought the house, but I'm not sure. There used to be a family there with little kids, and they were nice people.

I will do everything I can to nail this dude to the wall.

Last summer was shark attacks. Is this going to be the summer of dog attacks in Travis county? My god, I hope not.

At least everyone is safe tonight.

I know! The problem is getting out of control. Especially by the lake.

I'm not sure, but I think there is some process where any vicious behavior by a particular animal can be recorded by animal control or the Sheriff's office. Then if it happens again, the dog is toast. You might tell your mom to check with animal control tomorrow morning. I am not certain that this is done everywhere, but I vaguely remember something like that here.

Ah! I wanna bake your mom cookies! I'm glad those dogs were taken away. While I don't think it's completely their fault (I'm sure they've been neglected to act that way), it's the only way the nieghbor will be taught a lesson and the only way the other animals and people of the neighborhood will be safe.
Go Mom! Kick some temptation ass! W00T!

So sorry...

You neighbor is probably far too stupid to realize how kind your monther is. I know Travis county. I know that most good citizens facing the situation your mother faced would have reached for a pistol with confidence and no remorse. Your mother, of course, is quite brave.
