exhaustion

Today was hard, long day. Ten pregnant girls, one lost 90 year old man and a pair of kids covered in shit. Cripes.

I saw this afternoon that the Pope passed away. How very sad. For all my issues with my faith and the Church, I have always liked the Pope. There has never been any other Pope in my lifetime. It is a strange thing to think about.

I am not Catholic of course (though I was raised one) but I am interested to see what this means for the institution of the Catholic Church and where the next pope will take it. The last one was certainly a historic and influential one.

I think it will be a most interesting choice, whether they will pick a man to carry forward John Paul II's legacy, or a man who will pull the Church back into a more conservative mindset.

I could never do your job. I have infinite admiration for you and truly believe you are making a difference.

I wonder what it's like to know as you're alive that you're a historical figure. I don't know if my brain could process that kind of knowledge.

Some days I wonder if I can do my job. ;)

It must be like being inside a fishbowl, having the world so focused on you.
