I need to be working on numerous small projects. Things to write, things to read.
Last night I finished reading A Sundial in a Grave: 1610 in the bath. This is one of my new favorite novels, despite a lack of wizards. It is historical fiction, on one hand, and also takes this fantastic leap into an adventure novel that should keep company with Dumas. It has a beautiful erotic edge, and is incredibly romantic at the core in a way that is so much more human, so much more adult and genuine than most stories. This is romance built on desire, and on brotherhood in arms. Beautiful, beautiful. The plot takes unexpected twists, and it's just so damned captivating. Go, read, love.
When I'm not dreamingof 17th century duels, I'm playing Castlevania to my heart's content. I'm intent on ferreting out every secret area in this game, damn it. I hate jumping blindly in that dark room!
I'm superbly tired of the complaining and BPAL related drama. This isn't a mass market business, it's a small company who just lost some employees and this is someone's art. It clearly states on the front page that orders may take 45 business days or more. If you can't read, you don't belong on the internet.
They grey clouds make me want to stay home, and sleep.

Date: 2005-06-03 02:01 pm (UTC)I am waiting on so much crap right now. Chaos Theory, King of Clubs, Honey Moon and an imp six pack. There are three things I am going to order from Carnival Noir when Hadassah pays me and I'm hoping that one or two things in teh imp six pack will make me want a bigger bottle. Of course at a given point it's ridiculous, even if I wear perfume every day I've too many choices now (5 large bottles now, and every time I think about selling one because I don't wear it too much, someone in my head rears up and says NO).

Date: 2005-06-03 02:07 pm (UTC)When I started, I swore I wasn't going to be "one of those people" with a bunch of orders waiting. But here I am, waiting on Flower Moon and Strawberry Moon and Chaos Theory and yet more Arkham stuff. Le sigh. I have no willpower.
I'm very sad because I bought Miskatonic University for my little wizard and the stuff causes an allergic reaction.

Date: 2005-06-03 05:04 pm (UTC)But i am glad to hear that. I ordered the Lunacy scent they sold in April. Though i understand it would have been made just last week on May's Full Moon, I was starting to wonder if i should worry... I guess the answer is no, continue waiting in anticipation. I think I'm more eager about the imps I ordered at the same time that I am about the Lunacy.
It is nice to be swept away by novels.
Maybe I will try to finish The God of Small Things this weekend before i get too wrapped up in Latin to think of much else.
