I went to visit the House of Mellow and eat delicious homemade ice cream last night. (So good, so good.) We watched Pirates of the Carribean. It's strange to think, the first time I saw that was one of my first "dates" with Alan. I enjoyed seeing the movie again, and I do like it immensely. But I think there is something that will always be missing underneath a lot of movies and things for me now. The way Alan would say the lines, or make us rewind to watch something again, the comments about British military... sigh. Regardless of that, I had a lovely time. Good food, good conversation, beautiful tile work in the front room.

It rained hard here yesterday, knocking out the power at work. It was still grey when I rose this morning, and I wish it would just stay this way for a day or two. I need a break from all the sun.
