more ranting about the book, spoilers ahoy

I'm probably too excitable right now to do much justice to the subject, but I'm up and what else am I to do?

Snape's willingness to share the unbreakable vow with Narcissa very much gave me pause. It makes me wonder about the nature of the connection to the Malfoy family, and has forced me to evalute my own interpretation of their private history.

We all knew Wormtail was a Judas, and that Snape played that role as well. I had no idea which side he would come down on and there's enough speculation rampant that I'm wondering how it turns out in the end. But I think the rage is telling, and the styling of the Half Blood Prince... ah how our frustrations turn us cold. I love that moment because I think it is crucial.

There was no real explanation of why Dumbledore trusted him so much, after that betrayal. I'm not sure if it is just a weak point in the plot or if there is something more to it. I want to believe there is more. Perhaps there will be some explanation in the last book, gods I hope so. I'm hungry for this puzzle.

Can someone please tell me how my dear wizard is faring in Azkaban? Damn it! Oh Lucius, what trouble you are in and what hell will befall you before the end.

The whole thing has given me an ache in my chest, and I'm hard pressed to define what it is. Choices, and consequences perhaps. I have a fondness for my favorite wizards and their story, so much the more so because of the writing I did with Racheline. It's a significant part of my world in certain respects.

Oh and if you could bottle your conscience
Oh and you might
If you could bottle it and sell it
oh and you might

There has to be a good explanation of why Dumbledore trusted him, right now it's the key pivotal point of the plot. I'm not comfortable with the idea of Snape being evil though... but I can't reconcile him being tricked into doing what he did with the unbreakable vow though. Actually, the entire climactic sequence reads fishy to me. But I might just be tired.

Part of me wonders if he made the vow because it made his choice easier? I'm not sure though, as it seems rather disingenious of him. There is so much speculation that Dumbledore knew, and the way he spoke to Draco. It makes me wonder.

I think the only thing this book confirms to us is that Snape's story, regardless of whose side he's on, is meant to be a tradgedy.

Very much so.

Call me crazy, but I don't believe that Snape is completely evil. I need to read the end again... It just seems so odd that Snape killed Dumbledore and didn't kill Harry, though he had many, many chances. Maybe he was in love with Lily Potter. Hmm...Oi...too much Harry Potter...
