Sep. 1st, 2005 06:17 pmIt seems like the news and the pictures get worse by the hour. We're getting a lot of calls related to refugees. Lots of kids and elderly folk with nowhere to go. The office is sponsoring a donation drive. There are a couple people here who have no idea if their family members are even alive. The gas prices go up every time I go outside.
Do you have any idea how bloody hot it is in New Orleans? I've seen projected highs in the upper 90s and there is the humidity on top of it. No wonder everyone's going mad. But I can't fucking believe people are shooting at helicopters and emergency response teams. It makes me want to cry.

Date: 2005-09-02 02:07 am (UTC)new orleans is like walking into a literal wall of humidity. i feel for these people, and it drives me crazy that i'm sitting here typing, drinking tea in my air-conditioned house, and there are people DYING in that heat.
