Watched Corpse Bride last night at the Alamo. nothing like eating french fries and drinking a pilsner while watching a charming movie. I found it enchanting, and bittersweet.
I found it slight, but beautiful in that perfect self-contained way that Burton is at his best. I did think, though, that there should have been either more or less music.
It was indeed. Before the film, they showed old preview rolls of Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice. The Alamo is doing a Halloween town fest with pumpkin carving and singalongs.
dan has no interest in corpse bride. i have oodles of interest. damn not being in austin! the fries sound good too.
yesterday's pick was "serenity" which, despite my joss whedon love (i lovem' the buffy!), i had not a clue about. so good! much enjoyment by both parties. WAY better than "flightplan" which i found sorta flat.
Hee, I saw Serenity last night too! Total surprise, guy I know IMs me, "I'm going to see Serenity in an hour, got a coupon, wanna come with?". And of course I was all, "hell yeah!".
