I used to think tolerance and education could solve so many things. I think the time for tolerance is passing. I think we're coming to a point where we are just going to have to start hitting people in the head with bricks.
My county was the only one in the state who voted down the constitutional ammendment to ban gay marriage and civil unions. The only one. The people on the news and the message boards gloating and revelling in their bigotry and hate are getting to me today. It makes me sick to my stoamch. They might as well be waving big flags that say "Hi, I'm a bigoted rabid moron." The stupidity of the entire debate grates on me.
I also advocate bricks for people who didn't vote. If you didn't at least vote, you are also an idiot.

I still hope that our generation will wake up and kill this in the courts… it was the same for marriage between races and that finally was allowed.
I agree with your sentiments about the “moral majority”, as they like to call themselves, but the said thing is, is that this is now becoming the mentality of a lot of the world.
When disillusionment about life sets in, people look for direction… and the fanatics, “moral majority”, and close-minded have gladly pulled them in.
Something you might find interesting… maybe you will even find a conversation with an idiot to bring it up too…
Gay Marriages were not uncommon is certain Native American groups. There were men who took on the role of the woman, in all regards, and women who did the same.
