godspeed Ann Richards
Sep. 14th, 2006 10:01 amAnn Richards died last night, at home in Austin. Odds are that even if you don't come from the great country of Texas, you would recognize her big white hair and smile. Ann Richards did a lot of good work in the decades she served Texas, and the world is a dimmer place without her.
From the Associated Press report:
Richards said she never missed being in public office. She grinned when asked what she might have done differently had she known she would be a one-term governor.
"Oh," she said, "I would probably have raised more hell."
