Took almost two and a half hours, but I went through the entire cooking section. Marking books down, straightening them, making the shelves neat and orderly. Not that any customers will be grateful, and it will be a total mess when I go back to work on Saturday. But at least it looked nice once.

Watching the Air Force Secretary on Larry King, and it's just so damn creepy.

Made a 78 on an astronomy test, which was rather disappointing. I thought I did better. Took my Ancient Egypt test, and hopefully it went better. I knew all my hieroglyphics. Perhaps I'll get a hieroglyphic tattoo. That would probably amuse Dr. Nethercut to no end.

Reading Perfume, by Patrick Suskind. A strange book, something I meant to read a long time ago. Erin was fond of it I remember.

In the morning I'm going to gather together things for my mother's birthday present. Some nice soaps, pretty sketches of horses, a book, maybe some candles. I wish I could give her back some of what she has lost. Going to get her a cake too, and vanilla ice cream. Friday we're going to have dinner and eat cake & ice cream.

Dreamed last night that my father showed up at work. He looked so much younger, almost like he did when I was a kid. I miss that man, my father.

Rambling and aimless, I should go to bed.

A coworker tells a story at work of her and another bookseller working for hours on their section and getting it pristine and beautiful. They actually took photos just so they could prove it was really that good looking once.

Heh. Fabulous. Well once upon a time, the cooking section was as beautiful as could be...

I know how you feel. I've had computer books looking that good once, and never since. I'm gonna try for it again tomorrow.

I have a book of hieroglyphs and thier meanings. My first tattoo was a hieroglyphic meaning strength, and it's the head and neck of a lion. I think they are peachy keen!

Cool! How exciting. I'm guite fond of the hieroglyph for the letter M, it's this sinister looking owl. They are all so neat. What a fantastic pictorial writing system! Makes me want to run away and study linguistics.

Hieroglyphic Tats

I have a hieroglyphic tattoo! It spells out the word "strength". I had been wanting to get one for about two years and after I went through a very rough time last year I thought that was as good a time as any. I wanted something unique, not the trendy butterfly or Chinese symbols that everybody gets. I also wanted it to mean something to me since I was going to have this thing for the rest of my life. I love ancient Egpyt and I think heiroglyphics are beautiful. I drew the tattoo myself and I don't regret getting it at all.
