Aug. 31st, 2002 10:19 ammy life: something near to my heart, since I am quite aware of how fragile it is, and how close I came to losing it.
nabokov: Vladimir, the most perfectly bilingual man ever. how did he preserve that distinctive style across two wildly different languages? Vera, his rock, who made so much possible for him. I have Nabokov to thank, for introducing me to Hana in that strange fall.
