this wide happiness
Oct. 9th, 2004 09:40 amMelynda came in last night, and we drove up the highway listening to loud music and ate dinner at Kerbey Lane with Tyler. We pretended as much as we could that the last few years hadn't happened and we were still (relatively) carefree and innocent college students.
I've missed that, more than anything else that has changed in the past couple of years. We stayed up last night talking in the dark about all kinds of random stuff, and giggling hysterically at the memory of the night we woke Gene up with our cackling and the infamous "Hate Hate Hate!" chant.
Sometimes I get tired of being the responsible one and doing the right thing. Deep down I know it is the right thing and all I can do is move or die, but sometimes little things set me off. Like the drug dealer's girlfriend trading in her PT Cruiser for an even uglier and newer model. I mean, why? I'm sure she works hard for her money too.
We're going to find a sports bar that will hopefully be not too insane for watching the UT/OU game this morning. I'm wearing my "Remember Bevo" shirt and my new shoes.
