the drum beats out of time
Nov. 24th, 2005 06:53 amDrove to work this morning on mostly empty streets, with only a handful of other cars and one major accident. The red and gold dawn was pushing back the last of night by the time I got to the office.
I'm working today, because our business never stops. At least it seems pretty quiet right now. I brought a book along, to help fight the urge to sleep. It's not so much that this shift is three hours earlier than my normal one.
The real reason I'm tired is because I was woken up at 2:43am by the neighbors. They decided to play that Portishead Album with the "Nobody loves me" song at extreme volume. Then they started having loud sex. Then they took the loud sex outside on to their patio. This went on for about an hour. I was so ticked off that I called the non-emergency line, told them where I worked and how I had to be up in three hours and could they please send someone to scare the crap out of those morons so they would be quiet. I'm seriously contemplating writing them a nice note suggesting they invest in a gag if they plan on having sex that loud.
