Nov. 30th, 2006 09:56 amI'd give a lot right now for some good painkillers, as my lower back is murderous today. Damn the cold. The only good thing about the cold is that it affords me the opportunity to wear my furry coat and Russian hat, as well as the gloves my mother got me last year. Gloves are a pleasure I've forgone for far too long, I have to admit.
The damp and the freezing temperatures are unsettling. I wish I had stayed home from work, happily ensconced in a warm bed. Maybe a miracle will happen and we can turn this training class loose early. Our big bosses don't give a damn about our safety. Every other protective service office in this state could close due to calamity and we would still be told to come to work. I have a pretty good work ethic but it doesn't mena I'll drive in the ice to go to work. Maybe if I lived somewhere with regular winter weather, where people knew what to do. My town freaks out, and there are usually six hundred car accidents on ice days because no one knows how to drive in the weather.
