I don't even want to discuss the inane comments by the Supreme Court about how a woman's greatest expression of being is her love for her child, because it is so patently hidebound and ridiculous as to make me hope I've fallen into some parallel universe. I don't want to discuss NBC's great media coup either, because it just goes to show there is no damn point.

What I will say is that the weather is very nice here today. I had lunch with Mike in the courtyard at his office. It's like being back in college because I think every almost every single person working there has on blue jeans. I ate tater tots, wore my super long earrings, met his boss and the gatekeeper of code, ran into James, went to the grocery store, purchased cake making supplies and came home.

I also picked up beautiful white tulips, just starting to open up. I stuck them in the pitcher with some lavender carnations, and filled another glass with carnations so dark red as to almost be black.

Summer is almost here.

I love Alan Lee so much, just as much as Tolkien and maybe even more. I want to get the deluxe edition of The Children of Húrin so much. So much. Lee's art is gorgeous stuff. At the exhibit of all the film props and costumes, they had several of Lee's watercolors and sketches hanging up. I was sorely disappointed that the museum was not selling prints. I'd love to hang his pictures of Gondor, of Rivendell and Lothlórien.
