pirate rock

Last night we saw the new pirate movie. Before the show, there was a pirate rock band. Imagine David Lee Roth and AC/DC running off to become pirates and you have these guys. I was pleasantly surprised to hear they were accomplished musicians. Clearly they love what they do, and how can you not love a pirate rock band covering a Beastie Boys song?

While I complain about work often, sometimes it isn't so bad. My coworker Robin got me a very funny birthday card, and my supervisor gave me some peppermint coffee soap. They also bought me lunch from Luby's, which was pretty sweet. I am now stuffed with macaroni and falling asleep at my desk.

My birthday flowers are very lovely - irises, hyacinths, big white lilies, roses and something that looks like a magenta thistle. Mike even made a point of getting them from a local business instead of a chain, which makes them even better.
