Oh my lord. I can't believe this. I have bought eggrolls and potato and egg tacos from the stand since I was eight. From the same woman, with little jade earrings.

Eggroll stand on the Drag a possible front for stolen goods

I'm crushed, totally crushed.

In college, we all got our hotdogs from this one cartacross from the student center run by this guy Manoush. Best hotdogs ever. Really -- fried with curry and onions. But if you asked for a snow dog, you got a little back of cocaine under the bun.

Everyone's running a scam.

Damn. That sounds like a fantastic hotdog. the one with curry I mean, not the cocaine.

I wondered yesterday, when I didn't see them. It seemed odd. That woman has been out there every day for years. How disappointing.

Fantastic hotdog!
If you're ever in DC and he's not in jail, he's the hotdog cart in front of the Tower Records between H and Eye on 21st.

Mmm. This is tempting me to go to the grocery store and buy hotdogs now.

If you do, split the hotdog in half and do it in a frying pan with olive oil.

Mwuhahaha. Oh, fear the girl in the kitchen.
(He is not sure he approves of my culinary habits, but I pacified him by finding those ginger lemon cookies yesterday.)

Thanks to you, that's what I'll be eating tomorrow. ;P

Ah, that was the eggroll cart place on the Drag (South beach eggroll or somesuch?), right, not the one that operates in front of Littlefield (Saigon Eggroll)?

I was never much of a fan of the one on the drag or in front of RLM. I used to get fried rice, fried noodles or Indian bread almost every day from Saigon Eggroll in front of Littlefield for lunch for almost 10 years...I'd hate to see this longtime tradition go.

It was the one out on the Drag, in front of Barnes & Noble. Used to be directly in front of the old Co-op, cause we would eat out eggrolls sitting on the edge of the building when I was a kid.

I do hope the other stands won't be affected by this business. I would have starved to death during college without them.

I'm pretty sad about it too. And to have their pictures all over the news like that - I feel sorry for them. They say that they've been doing it for at least the past 3 years, so there's a possibility that they weren't strapped for cash until after I graduated. They fed me for 5 years, almost every day...

The guy at the RLM stand would always say, "And... and..." in between everything you ordered...

And my sister once took a picture of the woman on the Drag. She was embarrassed. Then Sis made a print and gave it to her, and she stared at it for the longest time with a little smile on her face. She said she was ugly, and we said no, that it was a wonderful picture of her.
