Life is really weird sometimes. I was just reading through some old journal entries and wondering how I have from there to here. Reflection doesn't suit me I think, because I tend to arrive at these insights in flashpoints, instead of through methodical meditation. I wonder how I ever got to be so fucked up, or how I ever made it away from there. Because while I know it happened, I jsut couldn't tell you how I pulled it off.

Wait ten years, and some of the routes of escape will be clearer -- and some will still be "How the hell did I pull that off? Was it a good fairy kicking me in the butt?"

Not everyone advances through methodical meditation and reflection. Ad not even the people who do that do it all the time. (There's also some rationalization after the fact that goes on, she said, staring at the ceiling.)

I thought of you because I found the most appalling paperback ever. It's called Gossamer Axe. Ever seen it?
