sky blue pink

A view from the LBJ museum near I35, with their long flat fountain ponds. To the left is the edge of Royal Memorial stadium, and of course the UT Tower in the center. My beautiful University. This image came in my alumni email the other day, and it's funny to realize how attached you are to something you see almost every day. The sky, the buildings, the sunset. While there are so many parts of the world I'm going to see, this will always be home.

Thank you.

Sometimes I forget how incredibly beautiful Texas can be. I'm having an awful day and this just brightened my spirits. Thank you.

I'm glad to be of service. Hope your day gets better. Contemplate pie. Pie is the ultimate food form, and is very zen.

Wow- that's beautiful. No turkey buzzards, though?

Ah Hill Country sunsets. Sometimes you see the buzzards, but not so much inside the city. The campus is pretty central, just about a dozen blocks north of the Capitol.

That's stunning.
Also, what's "Sky blue pink" from? My grandfather used to say that all the time and I can't place it otherwise.

It took me several minutes to figure out what water was reflecting the sky from that angle.

I picked up the phrase sky blue pink from a NY Times magazine article last week, where the author attributed it to her brother. It was the color of the sky at sunset when the clouds reflected the light, he said. I'm not sure why it struck me, but it seemed especially fitting for that sky.
