I find it bizarre that a woman would pull her kids out of school and drag them to California to stand outside the courthouse with big signs supporting Michael Jackson. The whole business is disturbing enough without the circus sideshow developing outside.

And Britney Spears believes in the sanctity of marriage. Right. The television is so weird today.

We put out these creepy glue traps last night for the mice, and caught a big one. I felt terrible about it, because the little beast had been laying there stuck in the glue for hours. It's bad enough that we need to kill them, but the idea of tormenting them... I feel so guilty. Alan dispatched him quickly.

Have you ever read this post? Actually, that's the kitty who's now visiting.

That is so cool! We're talking about taking a cat in from a friend so it doesn't go to a shelter. Maybe we can train it to do the same thing. :)

They didn't mean to do it. What happened was that the cat would, uh, finish with the still-living mouse and take it to the the nearest human. This was often Mara, one of the store's owners. Mara would go nuts and run for the nearest glue board, then start chasing the cat around, trying to get the cat to drop it on the board.

The cat, no dummy, quickly figured out what he was supposed to do. He simply skipped the chasing around part and just dropped the mouse on the nearest glue board.

Mice chew up books. There can be no compromise, and no mercy.

Oh gods! I didn't even consider that! I was worrying about the kitchen counters and food and all that... we will risk no harm to the books.

this is just me but i think the snap traps with peanut butter or i've heard of people using slim jims is a bit more humane than sticking to a trap all night long. i had friends with rats and they used the sticky traps only to wake up to a rat screaming!

I am so glad it wasn't screaming. And I'm definitely going back to snap traps, because that was all just too awful.

Last night I heard a joke that all the toy stores are going bankrupt because Michael Jackson stopped dating :-P
