I watched the moon go dark from the sidewalk. It was a strange thing. I don't think I've ever watched a full lunar eclipse before. It must be something incredible in a place with no lights.

While I stood outside, a police helicopter came in fast and so low I could have hit with a rock. They must have been chasing someone up the road behind us. Now they're circling with the spot light over and over out there, over the neighborhood behind our complex. The helicopter keeps going over the house with that thunderous hum, the light sweeping back and forth. It's an eerie sort of sound.

too bad you didn't throw a rock at it

the eclipse was beautiful. i watched it while eating falafel and tabouleh at taza fresca. that red it turned was strange. i was expecting red like the austin sky red, but instead i got red black. though i didn't stick around for it to be a ful eclipse. by the time i got to the north side it was clouded over.

Throwing the rock probably would have attracted their attention, which I really didn't want. It was a bit disconcerting to see them so close to the ground.
