My other hand has started to hurt, and the pain inside my wrist grows. It's different from the left, though. More like the arthritis sort of pain I've experienced before.

I keep crying, because my worst nightmare has always been losing the use of my hands. It scares me. I remember reading that weird King novel Needful Things when I was young and being terrified by the woman with the crippled hands.

Nothing is right.

Time to go get another brace, a new keyboard and reset up my desk somewhere else for when I can write.

I need these hands. I can't do anything.

Everything is rainy and cold.

Oh darling, I feel so sorry for you! Is there nothing you can do? Like, cooling your hand? Or warming it? Or maybe, take some aspirin to take away the arthritis?

Arthritis can be such a bitch. *hugs* I so wish you'll feel better very, very soon. And don't worry about Nano, sweetie. Don't risk getting a typist's neuritis on top of it all. It's not worth it.

I sympathize. The loss of my hands is one of my greatest fears also.

I suggest you get in touch with kate_cat, if you're feeling courageous enough. She was a massage therapist who has also lost the use of her hands... She said goodbye to her career at about the same time she said goodbye to an abusive relationship...

Given her body of knowledge and her own personal experience, she may be able to suggest some ways to help...

go to white crane and get you some dit da jow. it's a linament sorta thing; put on enough to wet the affected area and rub it in until your skin is dry, 3-4x a day. it's been helpful for me and i'm told it works for carpal-ish stuff too.
