(no subject)

We had a nice Thanksgiving meal last night with Alan's family. The pies travelled mostly well. I put them in nests of towels in a large box because I didn't have anything smaller. The meringue only slid a little.

For all the things different between people I know, it seems like everyone regardless ends up with green bean casserole. I am afraid to admit that I can't stand green beans. Hand over the hominy instead.

Despite my exhaustion, I have been up since 2am. Can't sleep. I feel like I'm getting sick.

obligatory thanksgiving post

- I can't decide if I'm thankful or not that I'm not in the Ukraine

- I'm thankful my health is more or less good, and that the muscle damage to my arms is fixable

- I'm thankful that many people have enjoyed my baking, and that I get to share the pies and treats

- I'm thankful that we have a warm and dry place to sleep, and can afford food, painkillers and the luxury of film

- I'm thankful for the internet, despite its myriad flaws, because I can always find something there

- On that note, I'm thankful for my livejournal

- I'm thankful for the people out there who are good, who are smart and who strive to be better people in their own ways

- I'm thankful for the people in my life who make it better
