yes it is an irrational fear

Hell and damnation.

I've cracked a tooth, somehow. It must have had a cavity lurking under the surface to be so fragile. It's freaking me out, and not just because I have no dental insurance and no money. This makes me feel somehow unclean, awful, and I'm developing morbid fantasies of infection and pain. It does not hurt much, except when I push on it. Which I probably shouldn't be doing. Even though I'm sure it would be excessive, a nightmare, I want to rip it out.

I want to scream.

Don't push on it (you know that, I know), but if you can wait until the morning hours, can you see an after hours clinic? I don't know if it is a big crack in your tooth or the degree of pain...but I would check with a dentist for advice.

I don't have dental insurance either and today I had a cavity filled...but I needed to do it.

Hope you take care...

I'm going to go home and ask my mother who her dentist is, or if there is somewhere I can go. It's not serious pain, not right now. So I won't die right away. ;)

Oh the evil. I feel guilty.

Also, if you are near a university, they often have a dental clinic (graduate students working towards their dentistry degree), that provides free or low cost dental care. Just a thought.

I might go back into the dentist on Monday, because the filling is in between two teeth and he asked me to floss, but I can't possibly floss there - tried it once, but I think a piece of floss became stuck/or embedded in it! Ugh. :)

That is a good idea. Thank you. I will have to poke around the university.

Oh no! I hope the floss does not torment you any further. When my mom tried to get me to floss, she bought the cinnamony flavored kind. I was much more interested in just chewing on it. Heh.

The floss is out of my tooth, thankfully. I think they can just sand if off the gap. Sounds bad, eh? :) Doesn't really hurt.
